The Lynn G.A.R. Hall & Museum has open house hours on Friday, April 29, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturday, April 30, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. There is a free lecture and film screening of Amazon Prime’s Blood and Fury about John G. B. Adams — a member of G.A.R. Post #5! — on April 30 at 2:00 pm. These events are part of Salem Ancestry Days.
The wonderful building that houses G.A.R. Post #5 — now a museum — is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, for its “Significance in Military, Architectural and Social History.” It is a treasure house of artifacts from the Civil War era. And in the Great Hall, you just might find a picture of an ancestor hanging on the wall.
